Planning Your Hot Tub

Have you ever seen a hot tub that looked tacked on, tacky, and uncomfortable?  You can avoid making the same mistakes with your hot tub with just a little bit of planning. The first thing to keep in mind when you start planning your hot tub is thinking about the shapes of preexisting decks and greenery. If you can blend in the area where your hot tub is going to be with what is already there it will feel more natural. In fact, some people even build matching decks around their hot tubs to make it really feel like part of the plan! Never stick a new hot tub onto a deck without thought or it will look very tacked-on.

Another trick is to think carefully about privacy. If you choose a place sheltered by tall greenery such as hedges or tall rows of flowers you can provide elegant privacy for your hot tub. Potted plants added around a hot tub can help out on decks while adding some height to the plants themselves, creating a taller privacy wall faster. In fact, many stylish hot tubs make use of living walls for privacy and extra elegance, so don’t be afraid to let your green thumb run wild. If you can not add greenery for some reason, another option is to add in privacy screens around your hot tub. Many decorative all weather screens are available today in a wide variety of materials, so choose a screen that you feel matches your current yard or patio yet is tall enough to help shelter your hot tub from the outside world.  From there just add in a few matching stepping stones to blend in the way to your hot tub with your preexisting décor, and before you know it you will have a hot tub that is comfortable and pleasing to the eye.

A Brief History of Spas and Jacuzzis

Although the first commercial Jacuzzi pump was released in the market in 1995, there is quite an interesting history that finally lead to that release. Even before that, the principle of spas had been in existence since for quite some time. People had discovered the significance of using hot water for the relief of pain quite a long time ago. It is said that the Egyptians, Chinese, and Greek started using hot water even earlier than 2000BC. In fact, people were known to use such natural sources as geysers even before the invention of methods of heating water. However, it is the Romans who are credited with the designing of early hot tubs, which were in production as early as 1950.

The Jacuzzis were originally designed by the Jacuzzi family, who had moved to America at the beginning of the 20th century. Although the originally got involved in the manufacture of aeroplane propellers, they switched to making agricultural pumps when one of their brothers died in an accident in the 1920s.

When a 15-month child of the Jacuzzis suffered from rheumatoid arthritis in 1948, his father, Candido, focused on the pumps to take his mind off the child’s suffering. In the process, he discovered how he could design home whirlpool pump.

The first pump, known as J-300, was meant for housewives in to help them relieve the pain that their chores created. However, people in different classes too used the device. Even the medical community realised the huge benefits of the pump. Its portability made it convenient for patients to make use of it right from their homes.

The first complete Jacuzzi pump was released in 1968. It was known as the Roman Bathtub, and it became very popular with the rich. The modern Jacuzzi pump was released to the market in early 1970s.
